The Company

Rand Leather is a US-based company specializing in custom, handmade, leather fetish gear for casual kinksters and serious Leatherfolk alike. Matthias Rand founded the company in 2012, making bow ties, harnesses, bondage gear, and custom leather clothing. Rand Leather aesthetic plays on the edge between overtly kinky and subtly suggestive. Whether worn for fashion or hard play, each piece is carefully handcrafted to withstand whatever you throw at it. There’s something for everyone, and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, Matt can make it. At Rand Leather, versatility is a cornerstone, quality is non-negotiable, and tradition is the guidance, but not the rule.

The Craftsman

Matthias Rand is an award-winning craftsman currently residing in New Haven, Connecticut. He founded Rand Leather in 2012, while finishing his BFA at Maine College of Art that same year. He majored in metalsmithing and jewelry and works primarily in leather, making custom fetish wear. He’s passionate about fine hand craftsmanship and attention to every detail. When not making leather gear, he’s selling it at kink conferences nationwide. Matt’s work has been featured in numerous publications and was awarded the Belvedere Grant in 2013 and 2016, which supports MECA alumni working in craft fields. During his off hours, Matt enjoys smashing the patriarchy and snuggling his mischievous, though lovable, cat.
